STAY AWAY! We used them through a booking agent WLHMoving, another horrible mistake. The one worker Jass, started complaining about how they have 3 more jobs after us, or either 3 jobs total. Either way all I’m thinking is how they are going to rush to move on and get the day done. Everything seemed great until the day of delivery. The communication was good, everyone was pleasant to deal with, even pickup went flawless, Jay was great and took great care of everything. We moved from Toronto to Calgary, $6000 and almost 2 weeks later, nearly half of our stuff is damaged or completely broken. We had packed everything in brand new moving and storage boxes, labeled everything that was fragile, and still ended up either crushed or literal holes in the side of the boxes with the contents damaged. I packed fragile items in foam peanuts, bubble wrap, craft paper and then put in paper shreddings to fill in the rest of the loose space, thinking there is no way anything can happen, as I tested it myself on a box prior to pickup, it would need to be aggressive moving for anything to happen, they were just tossing and dropping the boxes, definitely not carrying them (this all probably happened when they transferred my stuff to a smaller truck when I wasn't present). We confirmed multiple times both addresses were accessible by transport, but yet they still transferred everything to a smaller truck, just increasing the risk of something to happen, which clearly it did.
Their inventory system is also failed us, we had dozens of boxes that arrived without any number on them at all, making it very hard to confirm everything arrived until we are done unpacking, they keep coming back to “I signed off on the delivery so it’s all there”, yet there system is broken, and I got rushed at the end so they can make their next delivery. How is anyone supposed to know when stuff isn’t listed on the master sheet, again their fault, especially for a $6000 price tag. They were supposed to build all our furniture that they disassembled, my bed was built incorrectly and I had to go out and buy new slats, because they couldn't figure out how to get them in, I tried to help but at this point it’s the end of the day and we just want them gone so I said it was fine, although this should not have happened, if they are going to take apart, they need to ensure they KNOW how to reassemble it. All they needed to do was take it apart and redo it in the proper order, but again we were just done with them after everything, we just played it off as nothing, but with everything else, it adds up.
Their workers do not take care at all, scratching our floors and dropping open knives on our leather couch, twice… They acted like we were inconveniencing them, every time I said where something was to be placed, it got received with an unpleasant grunt, then they spoke to each other in their native tongue, in my house, which I find very disrespectful and can only assume they were talking about me, why go from english fine, then back... I understand it's hard work, I get it's not a glamorous job, I'm not asking for smiles, but I am paying a lot of money for this kind of treatment.
Now the worst part of this “company” is their customer service. When I reached out about the issues that occured the response was almost comical, nothing but defensive excuses. Telling me it’s my fault because I used cheap boxes not meant for moving… or telling me my cat tree got snapped because it was not strongly built, yet I moved it twice no problem, they move it once and snap, telling me their worker didn’t scratch my floor, then the worker coming back next email (yes they actually had the worker who unloaded my stuff email and confront me with excuses) and admit to scratching it… telling me I'm using my wall unit wrong because they scratched the bottom/side yet I use it for my TV as a stand… I could go on, but I’ll just post the emails from them so you can see the kind of “customer service” you’ll get when you spend $6000 on this “company” and try to resolve anything. They offered a goodwill credit of $250 or 4% after everything, not even enough to replace ONE of the units they ruined. Again read the emails for yourself, so you can see before and firsthand what you’ll endure if god forbid anything happens to you.
Numerous names same shady bunch, avoid like plague!
My first clue should have been when one of the other companies said"good luck with that". Promised to wrap furniture, uh uh! Damage to just about everything, boxes crushed etc. When it finally arrived 9 weeks later only 7 1/2 weeks late. they told us it was in different places left Montreal, Toronto, the truck went to Vancouver etc. Packed into a high cube 9' van. Patrick, Steven, the guy in accounting. Tried to change weights by 900, I called weights and measures and had copies of the weight tickets, recorded all the phone calls, they threatened to "lose" my stuff sell it etc. They also run under provincial moving, and action management? I have an email from industry Canada tying the companies together.
Just finished unpacking the last of my stuff a few days ago, thankfully nothing was damaged. I used their packing services, so in the event that something was damaged, they would be responsible for it (that is what I was told anyway). The crews they sent were quick, friendly, and I would definitely recommend them. I chose them because they were the only ones that let me visit there offices in person, every other mover I called insisted that there was no need for that. All in all the move couldn't have gone any smoother and the quote was in the range they told me if would be.
Overall, it was good. Our stuff arrived ahead of schedule and all in one piece.
We weren't always confident in the move. We were a bit confused by the system they used - several companies were involved and we were never really sure where our possessions were.
The movers on the pick-up end in Ottawa were a bit unprofessional, slow, and disorganized (they didn't wrap our furniture properly and they didn't really seem to know what they were doing) but, although it was kind of stressful for us, they got the job done.
The guys on the drop-off end in North Vancouver were amazing. Professional, fast, friendly.
We were totally satisfied in the end with the move and it was a good price for everything they did.
